First Aid at Work 3 day Course & 2 Day Refresher Course (Certificated)

Course Content

On completion of the training successful candidates should be competent in:

• Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
• Recognise the presence of major illness and applying general first aid priciples in it's managment of: (Stroke and Heart Attack)

in additon candidates should be able to demonstrate the correct first aid management of:

• soft tissue injuries (strains/sprains and dislocations)
• injuries to bones including fractures and suspected spinal injuries
• chest injuries
• burns and scalds
• eye injuries including how to irrigate the eye
• sudden poisoning and anaphylactic shock

  This First Aid at Work Course takes place over three days (18 hours). After a multi choice paper and practical Assessment the candidate will have learned skills that will enhance their own competence and enable you to work or run a business knowing any emergency is covered.

  The First Aid at Work course is taught to the HSE syllabus for Certification and is valid for a period of three years. The HSE highly recommend that a 4 hour refresher training is carried out on an annual basis for EFAW and FAW trained first aiders.
