Emergency First Aid at Work Course (6hours) HSE Certified

This one day Emergency First Aid at Work course is ideal for a small/medium low risk company where a nominated person is required to take charge during a first aid incident. An Appointed person would also be suitable to support fully qualified First aiders in larger organisations .

This course is designed to teach the lay person the primary care skills. The course is run over one day and includes both theory and practical sessions in a relaxed atmosphere, designed to boost the candidate's confidence.

Course Content

  • Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions
  • Understand the importance of basic hygiene and preventing cross infection
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and / or in seizure;
  • Administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and or / in shock
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries

Course Time: 9.30 am - 4.30 pm

Investment cost £75.00 per person includes a reference manual and face shield and attendance of a 3 hour update course for the following year. Please ask for our daily rates to run this course for your staff on your site. The Emergency First Aid at Work course is taught to the HSE syllabus for Certification and is valid for a period of three years.

The HSE highly recommend that a 3 hour refresher training is carried out on an annual basis for EFAW and FAW trained first aiders.
